Endorsements for Senator Sanders Across California

(copied from original article linked below)

LOS ANGELES, CA -- Today, more than 40 local elected and formerly-elected leaders from across the California announced their support of Bernie Sanders’ candidacy for President of the United States. The endorsements come on the heels of a nearly 26,000 person rally in Queens, New York with Congresswomen Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and an endorsement from Ilhan Omar.

“We are proud to have the endorsement of some of California’s most progressive and dedicated elected officials and party leaders,” said Rafael Návar, Bernie 2020 California State Director. “Grassroots change begins in our own counties and neighborhoods, and I have no doubt that with these leaders on our side, Bernie Sanders will become the next President of the United States.”

The slate of endorsements includes:

Elizabeth Alcantar Loza, Vice Mayor of Cudahy

Elizabeth Alcantar Loza is the first-ever Latina Vice Mayor of Cudahy and serves as a regional field coordinator for the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (CHIRLA). As an organizer, she advocated for car wash workers with the CLEAN Carwash Campaign, and later went on to serve as a Field Deputy for an LA County Supervisor.

"I'm supporting Bernie Sanders for President because his values align directly with what would most benefit working communities of color like mine. For too long, communities across the nation haven't had the access to quality healthcare, housing, and education that they deserve and Bernie is the only candidate that has not only led the way with policy, but with a movement."
